Engaging the Community in Dental Health

I recently started working on a project focused on increasing dental health awareness in underserved communities. It’s been eye-opening to see how lack of access impacts oral hygiene, and I’m eager to hear how other dental assistants are engaging their local communities. Any successful outreach strategies you’ve implemented?

It sounds like you’re doing some important work! I’ve found that organizing free dental check-up days at local community centers really gets people engaged. It’s like giving away toothbrushes — everyone loves a free gift.

I totally agree on giving away toothbrushes — people do love freebies! One thing that worked for us was partnering with local schools for dental workshops; it really helped raise awareness in a fun way. Have you tried doing events at schools yet?
