How long do braces typically stay on

I’m curious about the average time patients have braces on… I know it varies based on individual orthodontic needs, but I’ve seen patients with braces for as little as 6 months and as long as 3 years. Would love to hear what others have experienced or learned about this in their practices.

Totally agree on the timing part — I’ve seen patients with braces for about 18 months on average. It really does depend on the case, though; some respond well with faster treatment due to good compliance. I always tell my patients that keeping up with their appointments makes a huge difference.

I’ve had patients in braces for around 24 months, but it really varies. Some cases need extra time for better results. Ever tried to understand how diet impacts treatment speed?.

I’ve noticed that keeping up with regular adjustments really makes a difference in how long braces stay on. I had a patient whose braces came off after just 10 months because they were so diligent. It’s all about that progress in between appointments.

I’ve seen braces come off in as little as 9 months when everything lines up just right — kind of like a perfect game of Tetris! Staying on top of those adjustments is key, don’t you think, @zoe_123smith?

Braces can be tricky; I had a patient wear them for 18 months but diet really plays a role. Staying away from hard candies helps speed things up! @mason_k92.
