Looking for kid-friendly CE this spring

Has anyone taken a CE recently that genuinely helped create a calmer, more child-friendly visit for anxious kiddos? I’m a pediatric DA and I’m eyeing the AAPD 2-hour Behavior Guidance webinar next Thursday plus a course on SDF/minimally invasive care, but I’d love recommendations — especially anything with hands-on tell-show-do practice or updated nitrous monitoring we can apply chairside right away.

The AAPD 2‑hour next Thursday is great for frameworks, but , it’s light on real “tell‑show‑do” reps. What moved the needle for us was a nitrous update with capnography hands‑on plus a 30‑minute in‑office roleplay using the nasal hood, mirror, and a visual timer; then we cross‑checked tips against AAPD’s Behavior Guidance doc: Overview. If you’re weighing SDF vs behavior first, I’d do the SDF/minimally invasive course later — get the monitoring/communication dialed in first — does that fit your CEU needs?

Quick tip from our pedo op: before SDF or “magic air,” we do a 90‑second tell‑show‑do where @OP the kid “be the helper” — clip the capnography line on a stuffed dino, let them pick a scent, then try the mask long enough to “make the numbers dance” — which cut refusals and made nitrous monitoring smoother than any webinar. If you take the AAPD 2‑hour next Thursday, pair it with practicing this script in‑office; it adds a minute but consistently calms our anxious kiddos.
