New assistants for Saturday clinic — advice

We’re onboarding three new assistants for our free dental clinic this Saturday, 9–1, at the Eastside YMCA, and I want to set them up to calm nerves and keep care moving. If you’ve worked outreach, what one tip made the biggest difference for you — especially around quick sterilization flow or coaching anxious parents — so our neighbors get compassionate care without long waits?

I’ve had the best results rescheduling when I offer exactly two slots and a clear next step: ‘I can do Tue 8:40 or Thu 2:10 — if neither works, I’ll waitlist you and text if something earlier opens.’ If it’s pain or swelling, I flag @DrLee for a same-day squeeze-in instead of pushing them out. Scheduling feels like Tetris with molars.
