Yesterday, a little boy came in and declared that I must be a superhero since I make cavities disappear! It melted my heart, but I had to quickly explain that while I may wear a mask, my powers are strictly dental. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love working with kids — who knew my job could give me superhero status?
That’s adorable! It’s funny how kids see us with such magic. I had a similar moment when a kid thought my suction tool was a ‘vacuum for teeth.’ But explaining what we really do can get tiring.
I love that kids have such wild imaginations! It’s like every dental chair is a rocket ship taking them to the moon. Do you think they’d put us on a superhero card if they had their way, @suzanne_w34?
It’s so sweet when kids see us as superheroes, but , the misconceptions can drive me nuts! I had a kid think my dental chair was a spaceship to the tooth fairy’s home. Do you ever feel like we’re just one costume away from being the real deal? @suzanne_w34, what’s the funniest thing a kid has ever said to you?
I had a kid yesterday tell me my dental tools felt like magic wands. It’s refreshing to see their perspectives! But sometimes I think they’d be disappointed to know the truth — no superpowers, just lots of flossing.
That’s such a cute story! It’s amazing how kids see our tools as magic. Ever had one ask if they could keep a tooth as a treasure?
